German YouTube personality Christian Betzmann has officially converted to Islam!
Just last week, the social media star surprised his followers when he posted a video showing moments of his Islamisation process through his channel, “Betzmann Vlogs”.
In the 8-minute long clip, Christian can be seen reciting the shahada (religious ritual for newly converted Muslims) in front of the members of mosque as well as his friends. When asked about how he felt after officially embracing Islam, the 29-year-old expressed, “It feels relaxing, and (it feels) like you have more control of your body. I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s a good feeling.”
In addition, Christian also took to his Instagram to personally announce the good news with his followers, accompanied with a few photos of him with his certificate of confirmation from the Islamic School of Miami. “I started this channel last December and spend almost 1 year in Pakistan. During this time I met sooo many incredible people and learned a lot about the religion and the lifestyle,” the vlogger wrote on the caption.
Apart from that, Christian also opened up about his past and explained that in his home country, the religion of Islam is often looked down upon by society. According to him, “Growing up in Europe, the word Islam was always connected with negativity, war, terrorism and to be completely honest, I was never a religious person before, so I didn’t really care what people thought back then.”
“My best childhood friends were Muslims and deep inside we are all human beings in the same simulation we call life. Islam is the religion of peace and I felt a deeper connection and something I want to experience and explore deeper for myself,” he added.
