The famous coffee shop originated from Kyoto, Japan and it’s proven to be huge with the locals there. It’s said that upon seeing the cafe, a long queue is normally the first thing customers or passersby see. Ever since % Arabica opened its stores worldwide, the coffee shop has been gaining even more attraction. This is bound to be a hit in Malaysia once it opens here.
Anyone who recently went to Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur might have noticed the % Arabica storefront located on Level 3 at the Connection. The store was originally supposed to open late last year. But unfortunately, due to the pandemic, it was delayed. Miraculously, Japan’s famous coffee brand will finally open soon this month! So there’s no need for us Malaysians to wait any longer.
The store has already branched out to Southeast Asia in the past few years including the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, and recently Indonesia last month.
% Arabica is a really gorgeous, artistic, and modern-looking cafe with a minimalistic interior. Instagram users will surely start snapping pictures of the breathtaking coffee store both inside and outside. Every single outlet has a monochrome wall with the simplistic % logo that looks absolutely stunning. It gives a very welcoming feel to the cafe that is bound to pull coffee lovers in.
If you’re curious to see what the cafe looks like, % Arabica has shared a sneak peek on its Instagram page showcasing how the Kuala Lumpur outlet will look like. Here’s a snippet of the cafe:
It’s worth knowing that % Arabica founder Kenneth Shoji was in college when his passion for coffee started. As Starbucks became widely popular, it pulled him into the coffee culture and the atmosphere that the famous cafe is highly praised for. When Shoji reflected on who he was and what he wanted to do in life, he could only come up with coffee. It’s what he needed every day. Hence, this is why % Arabica was founded by him.
In September 2014, Shoji finally opened his store in Kyoto, Japan. His dream is to expand his brand internationally, which explains his motto, “See the world through coffee”. % Arabica has opened its outlets across the world including Southeast Asia. Now it’s finally coming to Kuala Lumpur!
There’s still no official opening date, but it’s confirmed that % Arabica will open this month. We’ll surely see some updates soon as we’re already in our second week of March.
