Yesterday (Saturday, 8th May), a Hotspots Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) list was released containing all the Covid-19 hotspots in Malaysia. As such, those under the HIDE have been ordered to close for 3 days by the government.
“If the HIDE system detects cases in a locality, the government will conduct risk assessment together with the Health Ministry to temporary close that area and implement the MCO,” Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was quoted as saying.
Based on a new big data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) system, specific Malaysian malls, hypermarkets and grocery stores have been identified in the maiden list – with 80% of them being located in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

“The public is also advised to delay visiting locations and premises that have been listed. If you do have to visit these locations, adhere to the guidelines that have been set,” said Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
