#BraderCincau Trends On Twitter After Reporter Posed A Valid Question To Ismail Sabri

Yesterday (Tuesday, 4th May), Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob revealed the SOPs (standard operating procedures) for this upcoming Hari Raya festivity.

This came following the announcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in 6 districts in Selangor, in addition to the interstate travel ban, which sparked dividing remarks from netizens.

Apparently, towards the end of the media conference, one particular reporter managed to steal the limelight. The man brought up the public’s concerns on whether there are any exceptions (read: special treatments) for the VIPs, public figures, and celebrities when it comes to travelling interstate.

To make it even more amusing, the journalist even gave some examples of unreasonable excuses such as “Going to Melaka to buy cincau” and also “visiting Penang to buy Pasembur”. As pointed out by a few netizens online, his statement appears to be hinting at the recent controversies involving a few local artists, including Neelofa.

Well, it didn’t take long before netizens began trending the hashtag #BraderCincau to show their support to the man, despite the hidden meaning. “Cincau is a symbol of the (common) people’s struggles! Long live #BraderCincau,” Twitter user @InjangNation remarked.

Another commentator chimed in, “If Dalgona coffee was the official lockdown drink for MCO 1.0, should Malaysia name Air Cincau (grass jelly drink) as the official beverage for MCO 3.0 after #BraderCincau?”

Honestly we couldn’t agree more! Check out some of their reactions left by other members of Twitterjaya below:
