The second runner-up of Miss Hong Kong 2016 is living the dream! Miss Bonnie Chan (陳雅思) recently announced on Instagram that she will be marrying the love of her life.
Bonnie is looking forward to spending the rest of her days with her new fiancé, and it seems they will be comfortable days indeed. As it turns out, her fiancé, artist and DJ Kuok Meng Jun (郭孟浚) is also the grandson of the richest man in Malaysia.
The 31-year-old ran for Miss Hong Kong in 2016 and won third place. While she was working with Hong Kong television station TVB, Bonnie hosted shows and acted in dramas. However, in 2020, she decided to leave TVB and become a yoga teacher.
Her fiancé, Kuok Meng Jun is the grandson of “Sugar King” Robert Kuok Hock Nien (郭鹤年). The 32-year-old graduated from Stanford University and majored in communications and digital media studies. However, his interest was in making music. With the support of his well-off family, Kuok pursued his dream and advanced his career in music. He has successfully established himself in Singapore and goes by the name MMXJ in the EDM world.
Bonnie and Meng Jun announced their engagement yesterday (27th May) on their own Instagrams respectively. According to their messages, Meng Jun proposed and (obviously) Bonnie said yes. The couple sweetly thanked each other for their love. “Here’s to the next chapter and happiest memories in the making!” they captioned.
We wish the newly engaged couple well in the next chapter of their lives!
