Olivia Rodrigo Gets Called Out By K-Netizens For Using BTS For Clout

K-netizens have been calling Olivia Rodrigo out for apparently using K-pop boy group BTS (방탄소년단) for clout.

It all started after one netizen shared a post on popular online community Nate Pann titled “The solo singer who’s currently in a battle with BTS”.

The post features a screenshot of the former Disney star’s official YouTube channel for her chart-topping hit, “Good 4 U”, along with the description that reads, “A song that hit number one on the Billboard chart, competing with BTS.”

As stated by the original poster (OP), he has never seen any pop singers using another singer’s name to promote their song in Korea. Many expressed their agreement with the social media user’s point of view, and flooded the comments with hateful remarks towards the rising songbird.

Check out some of the comments here:

  • “I guess ice creams and carwash coupons weren’t enough to promote her song LOL.”
  • “Olivia Rodrigo is receiving massive supports from her country while BTS’s streaming numbers are getting filtered on Spotify. International ARMYs are fighting a long and hard battle. But things like this do make us stronger.”
  • “The user who first found that out and tweeted about this got cyberbullied by her fans and BTS antis. He later posted a video clip showing this is really how she promotes her song in Korea. But then those bullies told her to get a life LMAO. Pathetic much?”

  • “I don’t care if she promotes her song but stop using our boys’ name to ride on the clout.”
  • “Now BTS antis are going to stream that song to prevent BTS from topping the Hot 100 smh”
  • “I don’t understand why Olivia Rodrigo is doing such a thing in Korea when she is already doing well in the U.S.”

Can Livies and ARMYs just get along? There is enough room for everyone to flourish.
