“In light with the rising number of Covid-19 cases, those aged 60 and above will be given priority to ensure we are able to provide protection (against infection) to this group. The registration will open on 23rd May through the website and community outreach at the respective district heath offices. Those who were wait-listed from the first drive would also get vaccine appointments,” said Khairy Jamaluddin.
The Science, Technology and Innovation minister added that the registration for opt-in will now include red-zone states of Johor, Penang and Sarawak – given the spike in Covid-19 daily cases lately.
To date 475,984 people have been vaccinated with atleast one dose in Phase 2 since 19 April under the national programme.
AZ opt-in was introduced only recently to boost confidence, and now giving priority to above 60 as well. About 1 million doses will be arriving soon. https://t.co/U3ynjCYuHh
