BLACKPINK’s Rosé & CL Are The First Female K-pop Idols To Attend Met Gala

The 2021 Met Gala was recently held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. And guess what, y’all? Our favourite idols Rosé from BLACKPINK and former 2NE1 member CL were also spotted attending the event as well!

Interestingly enough, the two lovely songstresses also made history by becoming the first female K-pop idols to grace the Met Gala red carpet. Hallyu icons namely Rain, PSY, EXO’s Lay, and Siwon from Super Junior have all made their appearances over the years.

The dolled up “On The Ground” singer made her appearance during the opening of the event, arm in arm with the creative director of Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Anthony Vaccarello. Rosé effortlessly rocked an elegant little black dress, finished with a giant white bow across the chest from the brand’s winter 2021 collection.

To finish off her simple look, the Australian beauty donned a pair of patent black platform heels and an embellished black choker and statement earrings, while her signature platinum blonde hair was in a teased high ponytail. Despite that it was her first appearance at the “Fashion’s Biggest Night Out” ball, Rosé absolutely killed it with her sharp gaze and radiant smile on the red carpet!

Meanwhile, CL (real name Lee Chae Rin) also made heads turn with her bold and fearless choice of outfits during the annual fashion event. The “Spicy” singer can be seen portraying the theme of this year’s Met Gala in an innovative denim number, picking out one of the representative materials of American fashion.

In addition to these two fashion-forward Asian celebs, Met Gala 2021 was also attended by a number of internationally acclaimed stars including Lorde, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stalion, Kit Harington, Irina Shayk, among others.
