Resorts World Genting has been closed since 1st June ever since the nationwide lockdown was implemented. Now that Malaysians have started enjoying the travel bubble in Langkawi, Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri has proposed for 3 more destinations – Melaka, Pulau Tioman and Genting Highlands – to reopen.
Although Focus GN and Inside Asian Gaming reported that Genting Malaysia is postponing the reopening of Resorts World Genting (RWG) until further notice, the official notice on its website says otherwise.
Yesterday (Thursday, 30th September), the resort released a notice titled “Reopening of Resorts World Genting”. It not only announced its reopening but also informed that all of its employees have already been fully vaccinated.
As of now, only limited offerings are available, with more facilities to reopen in stages. As with most public places, only fully vaccinated guests (for Pahang residents only) are allowed into the premises (in accordance to government SOPs).
