For many parents that are expecting children, pregnancy is a very wholesome time period. Without a doubt, sharing the experience of children with someone makes this special occasion even more memorable. Of course, Lauren Maners had her husband by her side throughout her pregnancy. However, she founded another amazing companion as well. That was none other than a cat named Dove who was also pregnant at that time.
Maners has been fostering and rehabilitating animals for a long time. However, she decided to give it a break when she was getting close to giving birth so that she can focus on taking care of her baby. However, on the day she decided to temporarily stop fostering, she came across an injured cat at the roadside, and she immediately knew that she had to help her. After checking on the cat with her husband, she got to know that she was heavily pregnant as well. Right away, she felt that she had created a bond with the feline. Therefore, she took the cat in her arms and bought her to the vet.

After treating the cat, the couple decided to adopt her, and named her ‘Dove’. They tried to find out if she had an owner. However, they discovered that Dove was a stray cat, so they decided to foster her. During the final weeks of their pregnancies, the two moms-to-be developed a close friendship and bond. Maners explains that at first, Dove didn’t let anyone come near her except Maners. However, as time passed, she eventually warmed up to the rest of the family members.

What’s even more amazing is that both Maners and Dove welcomed their children to this world around the same time. When Maners returned home after giving birth at the hospital, she found out that Dove has also had six adorable kittens. Maners’s daughter Kylie grew up together with the kittens for several months till Maners and her husband decided to find new homes for the cats. In the present, Dove lives with a friend of Lauren while the kittens are rehomed close by.
