There’s a saying that when it rains, it pours. This Taiwanese influencer unfortunately had an experience that fit the bill; both figuratively and literally.
A photograph of a woman in a drenched white T-shirt went viral yesterday on a Facebook group. Her eye catching figure caught a lot of attention and sent many on a hunt to find out who she was. It didn’t take long for the influencer to claim the photo and explain what had happened.
Her photo appeared in the Facebook group called “Explosive Commune Public Edition (爆废公社 公开版)”. In it, she was seated while looking at her phone on a train. The collared white T-shirt she was wearing was drenched through and her bra can unfortunately be seen. The netizen who posted it said: “The rain (was) very heavy. (She) seems to be a TikTok celebrity?”
The photo quickly gained attention and went viral. According to China Press, over 4000 people liked the original post. With so many people’s curiosity piqued, they started hunting for her identity online. However, the influencer decided to nip the issue in the bud and came forth to claim the photo.
Content creator “Gentleman Lobster (紳士龍蝦)” posted in her Instagram story that kindhearted netizens had warned her about the matter. The influencer included an explanation as to what had happened. “It rained (and I was) without an umbrella that day,” she said. Apparently, she went to a nearby 7-11 to get an umbrella but to no avail. As for the photo itself, she made it clear that she wasn’t the one who had taken or posted it. “Don’t worry subscribed fans,” she added. “If I (had) uploaded the photo, it would have been a different one.”
The influencer wanted to be clear on that point as, although she was well-endowed, she wasn’t comfortable taking very revealing photos. Lobster also asked people to drop the matter as it had been an accident. However, she also acknowledged that “not everything is under (her) control“. It’s hard when you find yourself becoming a viral sensation.
The unlucky influencer had seen the sky darkening that day and wished for it not to rain. She even posted the wish to her Instagram, but it didn’t work. Regretfully, she didn’t think anyone would take a photo of her in such a state.
It’s unfortunate that although women sometimes need to dress in white, it isn’t always the best idea. Especially when it rain. Hopefully, Lobster will be more prepared next time!
