Last month, Malaysian influencer couple Cik Epal and Joefliam left for a long holiday trip to several popular spots in Europe, together with their two kids.

As seen in the posts shared by the husband-wife duo on their Instagram accounts, they visited widely-known tourist attractions in Greece and also Italy during their 22-day-long trip overseas. We can tell that many of her followers out there have been utterly curious on the overall cost of the family vacation.

Through a post on her Instagram, the entrepreneur revealed that the trip cost more than RM150,000, including flight tickets, accommodation as well as their meals. According to her, the price that she and Jofliam spent during the whole trip was very worth it, as she was able to witness the beauty of Santorini island for herself.

It was also revealed that Cik Epal and her family had spent RM40,000 for the business flight tickets to Santorini! “This didn’t include the domestic flights to Santorini and Athens. I had to buy a new ticket because the first ticket to Santorini was burned because they didn’t accept passports from Malaysia (I already informed you about this the other day),” she shared with her followers.

Cik Epal then added by writing, “So, I ended up buying this domestic ticket twice. Therefore, the cost of a domestic ticket becomes double the price. Moreover, the hotel cost for the first three days in Santorini was also burned.”

As for the meal cost, the social media personality stated that they spent RM500 for a whole meal. “We ate two times a day, so you can assume that we spent approximately RM1000 for our meals,” Cik Epal added in her long social media post.

For those who are keen, check out the highlights of the holiday trip shared by Cik Epal on her IG post:

  • “I bought a luggage (unplanned) while shopping for winter coats to go to Italy (which was also not part of the plan either). It costed thousands of ringgits as well.
  • “We often switched our hotel rooms because we wanted to see different views. The most expensive hotel is the one in Santorini, which is RM3500 per night.
  • “We travelled for 22 days. The total cost includes business class flight tickets, meals, shopping for clothes and luggage, private yacht, hotels in Milan, Santorini and Athens, cab rides, transport to the airport, PCR test for the whole family, travel activities and etc: The overall cost is RM150,000.”

So the question is, was it worth it to spend over RM150k to travel to Santorini? According to Cik Epal, “For me, I think it’s worth it because I really wanted a relaxing vacation. Santorini is one of the places that I really wanted to go. So bucket list achieved!”
