Everyone likes going on vacation. It’s a fun experience; seeing the sights, getting to relax and basically enjoying time away from your usual schedule. However, a vacation can get stressful, especially when the hotel you’re staying in offers little to no privacy.
Recently, a netizen reported his bizarre experience at a luxury hotel in Thailand on Facebook. According to him, the room he was staying in offered quite a view… to those outside the room.
On 6th December, Hadsadee Aungkanawin took to the Facebook group, Hotel Addict (เสพติดโรงแรม) to share his review. Hadsadee stated he had initially wanted to make a private post. However, the hotel’s way of handling the matter had infuriated him. “I want to share this as a lesson,” he said. He did take care to not mention the hotel name, nor did he make any personal comments about the incident. All Hadsadee gave were photos and facts.
According to Hadsadee, he’d only discovered how open the room, a pool villa, was when he checked into the hotel. Regardless of whether he was in the room or the bathroom, there were certain spots where people could peek in on him from the outside. Hadsadee admitted he had known about the strange hotel design, but experiencing it for himself was a different matter entirely.
From the photos, it’s clear that there are multiple angles from which people can look into the room. The biggest concern was the building next door. People who stand on the balcony have a good view into the room. One photo showed someone lifting a camera and taking a photograph! Another person even took care to clarify that they were only taking a photo of their sister, and not the room.
The lack of privacy in the hotel room is concerning, but netizens were especially worried for potential female guests. The hotel’s response to the incident certainly didn’t help matters. When Hadsadee brought the issue up to the management, they merely apologised and sent some beer. “Hope this helps you enjoy the rest of the night,” they wrote on the accompanying card.
If you’d rather enjoy your vacation without any worries, we suggest steering away from this particular hotel. Or, you could opt for a safer room and not the pool villa. After all, having a private pool isn’t worth it if we lose our privacy in the process.
