2021 is about to end and netizens are fairly grateful. It’s been a pretty harsh year, with it finishing up on Wang Leehom (王力宏)’s messy divorce scandal. Leehom’s divorce wasn’t the only one that made headlines, Barbie Hsu and local celeb Shila Amzah also announced their separations. However, we don’t think we can stand the thought of another couple divorcing.
Jordan Chan (陳小春) recently gave netizens a scare when he implied that something was going on between power couple Julian Cheung (张智霖) and Anita Yuen (袁詠儀). The Hong Kong singer-actor bluntly advised his friend to not divorce!
As it turns out, the sudden statement popped out during a conversation on their show, “Night in Wan Chai (大湾仔的夜)”. The “Big Bay Area Brothers (大湾区哥哥)” group were apparently chilling with their guest, actor Simon Yam (任達華). Although the group were relaxing, they were having a serious conversation. This time, they were talking about their family issues.
Many were surprised to know that Julian’s parents divorced when he was fourteen. The actor admitted the experience had helped him understand and value family more. Hence his desire to spend more time with his son, Morton Cheung (張慕童). The 15-year-old has been making waves on social media. Julian claimed that the divorce had a good effect on him, allowing him to “cherish the people beside him more“.
Shockingly enough, Jordan suddenly said, “The two of you should not get divorced.” The others were stunned by the advice and wondered if something was actually happening between Julian and Anita. Thankfully, the only beef Julian admitted to having with the actress was her love of buying bags. “(It’s) very boring, I don’t understand (her love of buying bags),” he shared. “We cannot understand this, women’s things.”
Well, that was a mini heart attack!
It’s fairly normal for couples to fight, after all, you are two different people. But it would be very sad if Julian decided to divorce Anita over her love of buying bags. We wish the couple well as they head off into the new year.
