Congratulations are in order for Brunei Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah and her “mysterious partner” Awang Abdullah Nabil Mahmoud Al-Hashimi, the royal couple is now officially husband and wife!
Princess Fadzilah, who’s the daughter of the Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his second wife Maryam Abdul Aziz, tied the knot in a lavish week-long event that culminated in a grand reception ceremony held at the royal palace over the weekend.
Last week on Thursday (20th January), the traditional solemnisation ceremony was held at the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan. “In accordance with Islamic Law, the groom recited his vows before male members of the princess’ family, led by His Majesty the Sultan, who acted as the bride’s ‘wali’ (representative),” a caption in the Royal Family’s IG post reads.
Meanwhile, the wedding reception took place at the palace on Sunday (23rd January). The royal bride and groom made their grand appearance in matching white and silver brocade ensembles, embellished with diamonds. Princess Fadzilah also covered her hair with a white lace veil, paired with a glittering tiara.
Princess Fadzilah’s younger brother, Prince Mateen Bolkiah, also took to his Instagram to share some heartwarming message for his beloved sister and her hubs, writing, “Congratulations to the newlyweds.
