Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for Brunei Prince Abdul Mateen’s sister, Pengiran Anak Puteri Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah and her partner Awang Abdullah Nabil Mahmoud Al-Hashimi. According to the scheduled traditional ceremonies posted on @bruneiroyalfamily’s official Instagram, the lovely couple is set to tie the knot tomorrow (Thursday, 20th January).

Earlier on Sunday (17th January), the royal wedding ceremonies have officially commenced, beginning with the Istiadat Bersuruh DiRaja ceremony (marriage proposal/declaration of acceptance). The event was attended by His Royal Highness Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, along with the rest of the royal family members.

The events continued the day after that (Monday, 18th January), with the Majlis Istiadat Membuka Gendang Jaga-Jaga, marking the official start of the wedding celebrations. Additionally, the event was also accompanied with a customary 21-gun salute to officially mark the beginning of the royal wedding ceremony.

The account also shared some photos of the Brunei royal family’s residence getting decorated for the wedding. “The Royal Regalia and Pemajangan decorations (which is only reserved for royal festivities including royal processions, coronation and also installation of the Crown Prince) were put up at Istana Nurul Iman yesterday in conjunction with the royal wedding celebrations,” the caption reads.

They added by saying, “The Pemajangan is an embellishment of a white colonnade (covered with white cloth) that fronts the palace entrance of Istana Nurul Iman, with symbols associated directly with the Brunei Darussalam monarchy.” Check out the photos uploaded by them below:

Last night (Tuesday, 18th January), the Majlis Istiadat Menghantar Tanda DiRaja and also Pertunangan DiRaja was held at the Nurul Iman palace. For those uninitiated, these customary events marked the sending of the dowry and official engagement of the royal couple.

As revealed in @bruneiroyalfamily’s IG update, an entourage representing the groom’s side arrived at the palace to deliver bridal gifts for the princess. Among the gifts include jewellery, clothing, and also other traditional items.

As we mentioned earlier, HRH Princess Fadzilah and her beau are set to wed in a traditional solemnisation ceremony tomorrow. The royal wedding reception will take place on Sunday (23rd January).
