How To Change Your “Casual Contact” Status On MySejahtera Back To Normal

Ever since the pandemic started in Malaysia back in 2020, many safety measures had been taken by the government to ensure our wellbeing. Ensuring sanitisers are provided in public premises, coming up with SOPs, and launching the MySejahtera mobile application.

As we are all aware, MySejahtera notifies you if you had suspicious contacts for the past few days by changing your status on the application. However, what do you do when your MySejahtera status turns yellow but you did not contract Covid-19 recently nor underwent quarantine, and are asymptomatic?

Fret not! It’s actually amendable with a few simple steps, and soon enough, you’ll be able to enter shops again. Although, before we tell you how to change your status back to blue, do you know what does the yellow status of “Casual Contact No Symptoms” means?

Don’t worry, it’s not the same as Close Contact, and this case often happens when you check-in at places that a positive person had checked-in on the same day.

So now, what do you do when you’re an asymptomatic casual contact? Do you go for swab tests and quarantine yourself? Here’s what you should know about your Casual Contact status:

  • Your MySejahtera status will stay as a Casual Contact for 10 days.
  • No quarantine nor swab tests are needed, unless you start developing symptoms.
  • Although you might be denied access to some shops, some premises will still allow entry.
  • Entry to PPVs for vaccination appointments are still allowed.
  • Update the “Daily Assessment” on the “Things To Do” tab for as long as 10 days and monitor your condition for 14 days.
  • Your MySejahtera status will be updated back to blue after the 10 days period has ended.

However, we know that mobile applications tend to glitch once in a blue moon, and MySejahtera is not an exception. So, if you haven’t been anywhere for the past few days but your status on MySejahtera turned yellow, here’s how you can rectify it through the helpdesk tab on the application itself:

  • Find the helpdesk option on the homepage of your MySejahtera, and select it, then click “Start”. (It’s the brown desk icon on the right)

  • Scroll down, and select the letter K option of “I have a question about my risk category/health assessment.

  • Select option A, “I would like to redo my assessment.
  • Select option A again if you are reassessing yourself, and option B if you are reassessing your dependent’s status.
  • Then select option B, “To redo your health assessment.
  • Next you will be asked to state what is the reason for reassessment.
  • After you’re done reasoning out, click next and you will need to fill up your details so that they can contact you in regards of the issue.
  • Press submit, and you’re done!

Do take note that your status might not be updated right away, so give it some time for it to change back to normal, or the blue status of “Low Risk No Symptom”.

If you’re experiencing any technical issues, you can call 1-800-88-8828 or email directly to helpdesk@mysejahtera.org. Hope this helps and we hope everyone stays safe!
