Hollywood has produced quite a lot of shark movies. However, this industry has greatly misinterpreted these creatures in their movies. In Hollywood movies, sharks are usually portrayed as creatures that can sense their prey even at a large distance, and then eat them up using sharp teeth. This has resulted in a wrong stereotype about sharks. However, in reality, sharks live in the deep oceans, and the chances of humans getting the opportunity to even approach them are very rare. Recently, a photographer from California named Euan Rannachan shared how it feels to be up-close to the sharks. This series even includes a face-to-face encounter with a great white shark weighing 1500 pounds, named Brutus. Isn’t that incredible?
Rannachen is famous for his photos of great white sharks. His work has even been published on BBC, Fox Week, and Newsweek. Euan is also the co-founder of a company named “Be a Shark”. This company offers photo and video classes and cage-diving classes on Guadalupe Island. Euan has been a photographer for the past 15 years, and his favorite subject has always been apex predators. He states that he got his first opportunity to approach sharks in 2016. Although he was a bit anxious initially, his confidence came back after a white shark passed very close to him.
Euan wants people to change their minds about sharks by looking at his photos. He wants people to see that sharks are very different from what’s shown in movies. So, what are your thoughts about these stunning pictures? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
