Whenever people achieve their dreams, they often make it look like a hop, skip and a step away. However, their actual journey is often long and arduous and only they themselves can fully fathom the struggles they went through.
Local influencer Qiu Wen (秋雯) has always been one to share her achievements with her fans. She celebrates her milestones in life, such as buying her first house, and getting herself a new car. Yet, those didn’t come easy and her Facebook memories certainly showed it.
Qiu Wen shared on her Instagram Story that it took her 9 years to get where she is now. She first started as a model in 2012, taking on shooting jobs. Qiu Wen shared she had been under a lot of stress then and had spent countless nights crying into her pillow. Additionally, her job was made harder by the fact that transportation was difficult, as she didn’t have a car, nor was Grab available then.
Money was another obstacle the influencer had to deal with. Qiu Wen recently shared her thoughts on saving for the future. With her past experience, it was clear to see why she prioritised it so. “In order to save money, I only spent RM3 to eat,” she stated. However, she wasn’t willing to give up on her future either. She split her time between studying and working.
It was difficult and frustrating, but Qiu Wen felt it was worth it in the end especially after achieving her dreams. However, she looks forward to the day where she can simply slow down and enjoy life. As she shared on social platform “Little Red Book (小红书)”, everything she does is geared to furthering her career. “I hope one day I can strive to do what I love,” she wrote. “My dream is to go work in (a) kindergarten, (and) see cute kids everyday.”
As much as people like to give her flak, Qiu Wen is certainly admirable. The influencer knows where she’s going, and what it takes to get there. We hope she continues to persist and gets what she wants out of life!
