(Video) Food Rider Barely Escapes From Being Pounced By A Tiger During Delivery

Food delivery is not an easy job. The riders have to go through traffic, delivering multiple orders, risk of getting into accidents and bear hot or stormy weather just so we customers can eat peacefully at home or in our office.

It’s definitely not a job should take lightly but one thing no one would ever expect of doing food delivery is being at risk of becoming tiger food. That’s certainly not something you’d hear everyday.

SOURCE: FACEBOOK.COM/SYAFIQSYAF95Mohd Shafiq Mamat, a 27-year-old food deliveryman shared on his Facebook page that he was almost pounced by a tiger in Taman Bersekutu, near Dungun, at 8:40pm on Wednesday night (9th March). Mohd Shafiq said he was on his way home to Taman Permint Indah in Dungun after delivering food in the area when the incident took place.

“Suddenly, I caught sight of a tiger on the right side of my motorcycle and it was trying to pounce on me. I immediately revved up the throttle and rode as fast as I could to save myself,” he said. The food deliveryman told Bernama that he managed to glance back at the tiger (estimated to be bigger than his motorcycle) which was only about five metres from him then before it stopped chasing shortly after.

Mohd Shafiq shared that it was the most terrifying experience in his life and is now traumatised by the incident. One can only imagine. He has been working as a food deliveryman and never expected something like this would ever happened. The closest experience he had to prior to this was being chased by dogs and that’s a normal thing to happen while being on the job.

The 27-year-old stated the Taman Bersekutu Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) has filed a report with Terengganu’s Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) for further action. Meanwhile, state Perhilitan director Loo Kean Seong said that the department’s officials had gone to the scene to investigate and monitor the situation.
