Animals like dogs are much more sensitive to sounds than humans. Therefore, they have a hard time dealing with loud sounds, and the sound of heavy rain and thunder is no exception. These sounds can terrify animals, and there’s no doubt that stray animals who don’t have the safety of a loving and cozy home have it much worse. When it’s raining, they have no choice other than to be trapped in the cold streets and let their fur coat be soaked with water. This is a truly heartbreaking sight. However, fortunately, kind people who recognize the pain of others exist. They are willing to help and protect these poor animals without expecting anything in return.
Streets in Kolkata experienced really heavy rains in the past few days. As a result, humans, and animals are being forced to seek shelter and protection from the rainstorm. Constable Tarun Kumar Mandal, a police officer, received some unique and unexpected company when he was directing traffic at a street in Kolkata on Saturday. A couple of stray dogs who were drenched from the rain came and sat next to him, seeking shelter from his umbrella.
The Pic Went Viral When It Was Shared On Social Media
Mandal, being a kindhearted person, continued to direct traffic while sharing his umbrella with the dogs. When a passerby snapped a pic of the wholesome moment and shared it on social media, it took the internet by storm. Even the Kolkata police shared the lovely moment on Twitter, captioning it “Moment of the day.” The two dogs look happy and grateful about finally being able to sit down and relax in the middle of a chaotic situation.
India has one of the highest stray populations in the world, estimated to be about 35-40 million. In order to help these animals, there’s still a long way to go. However, it’s truly heartwarming to see people going out of their way to help animals in need. So, what are your thoughts about this incredible story? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
