Yesterday (Friday, 1st April), BaWangChaJi Malaysia took to its social media to announce that the brand “had some to an end”. They wrote, “All good things must come to an end. Once again, thank you everyone for your unconditional love and support throughout these years.”
Naturally many followers thought that BaWangChaJi was pulling an April Fool’s prank. After it was the 1st of April, and many other brands were doing it. On the other hand, longtime fans were devastated and shock to hear the news.
But fret not peeps, BaWangChaJi has just been rebranded to CHAGEE 霸王茶姬. Starting today (Saturday, 2nd April), the teahouse chain is sporting “a new look and a new name that better reflects the brand that we are building. Rest assured, as CHAGEE 霸王茶姬, we will continue to provide you with the best tea drinking experience and remain as the pioneer of tea beverage brand. So say hello to CHAGEE!” ✨
In celebration of the first ever CHAGEE 霸王茶姬 flagship store in Pavilion KL (where patrons will get to different interior design and elevated tea drinking experience), the brand has also invited Datuk Lee Chong Wei to come on board as brand ambassador.
On choosing Datuk Lee Chong Wei to be the face of CHAGEE 霸王茶姬 moving forward, the beverage brand explained, “We are confident that Datuk Wira Dr. Lee Chong Wei is the perfect fit for our brand as we share similar values such as resilience, strength, determination, and passion.”
