All bibliophiles, take note! The moment you’ve been anticipating has arrived! Taiwan’s mega-bookstore chain, Eslite Spectrum, has been teasing its arrival in Kuala Lumpur for the past two years, with the store set to open in December 2022. We know you’ve waited long enough, but it’s only a few more months; you can do it!
As mentioned before, the bookstore chain will be housed in the luxury shopping mall, the Starhill in Bukit Bintang. For those of you who don’t know what we’re talking about, the Eslite Spectrum (誠品生活) is a cultural destination that invites creativity in all sorts of art forms such as literature, music, fashion, food and much more. Here’s the first look at the store!
The outlet will command the entire 70,191 sq ft first floor space and will be divided into three sections. 40% will be dedicated to retail products such as arts, crafts, and handmade goods, while 20% will be dedicated to the food and beverage sector.
The books will take up only 33% of the store, with the majority being English books, followed by Chinese and children’s books, and Malay books. There is also a seminar and exhibition space that can seat up to 40 people.
The Eslite Spectrum branch in Kuala Lumpur is the first in Southeast Asia. Pretty impressive, don’t you think?
