For Miss Hong Kong 2023 (香港小姐競選) finalists, now is, quite possibly, the worst time for controversies. Unfortunately, Singaporean Michelle Poa (潘明璇), is currently fending off some nasty rumours thanks to her supposed ex-boyfriend!
After Zora Chen (陈怡名)’s tangle with netizens over a perceived “rude remark”, Michelle Poa was apparently next in the firing line. Recently, many were left shocked when her alleged boyfriend claimed she had not only gotten plastic surgery, she had also cheated on him.
The 9th Miss Hong Kong participant has been defending herself from rumours of plastic surgery as early as July and she’s refuted such rumours repeatedly. Michelle even recently mentioned that she was “very happy” after hearing the rumours as it indicated to her that people thought she looked “more beautiful“.
However, on 19th August, Shaun Michael Seow aka YouTuber Seowie made some outrageous claims regarding the Miss Hong Kong finalist. Shaun alleged Michelle had lied to him, not only about their relationship, but also about her appearance, education and more.
“I was accused of spreading rumors of her surgeries, when I was instead taking the time to heal mentally and physically for the last year after everything that has happened,” he stated, adding he had been depressed and hospitalised when Michelle confronted him about the rumours. “As such, having been wrongly accused of spreading her rumors, I decided to take the time to address what I know.”
Shaun claimed Michelle had gotten plastic surgery for her eyes, nose, waist and chest, showing photos of her after the alleged surgeries and adding he had sat through three to four surgeries with her. While he denied having spread the initial rumours, he added he believes the changes are visible enough that “many people can figure it out“.
Additionally, Shaun revealed Michelle had cheated on him right as he was planning on moving to Hong Kong with her. He explained she had supposedly been helping him look for a tenant for his place. But, he soon noticed that she was consistently texting one prospective tenant in particular.
A quick check of her DMs apparently revealed some raunchy texts and Shaun noted that she often visited the guy at his home. To make matters worse, she visited Bali a few months later with someone else. Shaun added that her friends claim she was also seeing other guys while she was officially together with Shaun.
The YouTuber also alleged Michelle Poa had lied about her education, claiming she was actually a SIM (Singapore Institute of Management) dropout and that she was actually unemployed. Shaun also claimed she had lied to him about her family and their family issues.
Shaun claimed he had known about these matters for over a year, and even asked Michelle to come clean about it herself. But, as she supposedly continued her ways, he decided to expose her instead.
Michelle Poa has since addressed the allegations via her socials. “At present, my mother has entrusted a team of Singapore lawyers to take legal action against Mr. Shaun Michael Seow for (the) defamation and personal attacks. I’m still determined, (will) continue to focus on the final next Sunday and will (not) be affected by this incident,” she stated in her Instagram Story.
Well, that is certain one mess that may be impossible to clean up after. On our end, we sincerely hope the duo will be able to sort the issue out and wish Michelle Poa luck for the upcoming competition.
