Longines Preview, New Balance Grey Days, Honda Launch & More: Events We Hit Up This Week!

Another week, another whirlwind of totally EXTRA events! We were here, there and everywhere!

We had a colourful time at New Balance’s Grey Days; enjoyed a smooth ride at the new Honda City Hatchback launch, experienced a 10/10 good time at 59Fifty’s anniversary bash, and more. Longines HydroConquest GMT Preview

Longines recently held a media preview of the expanded HydroConquest GMT range, at its largest boutique in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX. The brand recently introduced new 43mm diameter models to the HydroConquest line.

Alternating polished and satin-brushed faces, this new generation still has all the features that made the HydroConquest GMT so iconic, such as being water-resistant up to 30 bar (300 metres), robust, and with a unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel, screw-in crown, and screw-down case back. This movement is more than ten times more resistant to magnetic fields than the ISO 764 reference standard. It boasts extreme precision and a power reserve of up to 72 hours.

The new HydroConquest GMTs come in black, blue, and green dials and have a sapphire crystal with a multi-layer antireflective coating. To top it all off, the new models come with stainless steel bracelets featuring H-shaped links or blue or black rubber straps. Here’s what went down at the launch:

New Balance Grey Days 2024

We embraced and celebrated our greys with New Balance Malaysia at their annual Grey Days event! Held at Slate at The Row in Kuala Lumpur, the event featured an exclusive exhibition of the brand’s latest Grey Days collection, spotlighting the new and classic expressions of NB’s enduring legacy in its signature colour.

Besides checking out all the shoes and apparel that are part of the collection, we also got to try customising a grey-themed accessory, indulge in grey sweet treats; and show off our grey outfits at the Grey Studio. During the event, we also got an exclusive screening of the “Grey Days” short film that celebrates New Balance’s history and heritage. Watch what happened:

Honda Launches New City Hatchback

Honda Malaysia officially launched the New City Hatchback with an added petrol option for its RS variant, which completes the sporty hybrid and petrol offerings for this top-selling hatchback model. With this latest introduction, the New City Hatchback now offers a total of five variants.

The New City Hatchback has received enhancements and upgrades to its exterior, offering a more energetic, bold, and sporty outlook with a newly-designed Honeycomb Front Grille, Front Lower Grille, LED Front Fog Lights Garnish, and Rear Bumper Lower Garnish. New Berlina Black 16-inch alloy wheels and a new edgy-looking Side Sill Garnish further elevate the sporty appeal of both RS variants. The Petrol RS and e:HEV RS variants of the New City Hatchback are now longer, with a refreshed exterior design measuring 4,369mm in length, while the S, E, and V variants are 4,350 mm in length. 59Fifty’s 70th Anniversary Celebration 

Everyone loves a chill get-together. And food, drinks and amazing company were all that was needed to celebrate 59Fifty’s 70th anniversary recently!

The event took place at the official New Era store at Starhill Bukit Bintang and guests got to check out the latest iconic 59FIFTY caps and limited crossover edition collections, as well as play some fun games.

Hi-Tea With Ella

Malaysia’s rock queen, Ella, recently organised a Hi-Tea with members of the media to share the details of her first concert of 2024, “JILID ROCKESTRA ELLA: ROCKERS JUGA MANUSIA”. The announcement took place at Restoran Rumah Nusantara, Sunway Putra Hotel. The rock star also revealed that it will be one of the most intimate concerts, and is set to take place on 9th August 2024 at Plenary Hall, KLCC. 

The concert will be organised in partnership with Hitman Solutions, and according to Rohit Rampal, CEO and founder of Hitman Solutions, Ella’s upcoming show will focus on the merge of gentle orchestral tunes and soul-piercing rock melodies. The concert will be directed by Dato Hashridz Murshim bin Hassim, also known as Dato’ Acis, who is known for his incredible experience in the music industry.

HUAWEI Innovative Product Launch

Huawei held its stellar Innovative Product Launch recently, and we were glad to be a part of it! The tech giant took the opportunity to reintroduce classic favourites, and debut brand new products sure to capture the masses’ hearts. First was the Huawei MateBook X Pro, a slim and sleek laptop lighter than (Macbook) “Air” – you can easily lift the device with just a few fingertips.

Next was the WATCH FIT 3, an amazing smartwatch to keep track of your daily life. Hakken x Moonlight Blade M

MPH Bookstore At The Exchange TRX Launch

If you love books, then you’re gonna love this! The official MPH Flagship store recently opened at The Exchange TRX!

We were very much surprised by the size of this outlet and were overwhelmed by the wide range of books that were on display! Bookworms and avid readers will definitely feel right at home when stepping into this new store! We certainly did!
