Another week, another whirlwind of totally EXTRA events! We were here, there and everywhere!

Maurice Lacroix TRX Boutique Opening

Maurice Lacroix, a name synonymous with urban-themed watches, recently opened a new boutique in The Exchange TRX – and we were at the fabulous launch event, front and centre. Created in collaboration with Watatime, the boutique – the third mono-brand ML store in Malaysia – upholds the brand’s distinctive ‘cool and young’ style of expression.

Visitors  to the boutique can view the company’s full product portfolio and learn more about the brand from the Franches Montagnes, its philosophy and unique expressions of Swiss watchmaking. The boutique represents the latest chapter in the luxury marque’s global expansion strategy. At the launch, we got a firsthand experience of the luxury brand’s exquisite craftsmanship and highlighted timepieces – including The Aikon Tide Collection and other exclusive limited editions. 

Marcel Gut, Chief Commercial Officer of Maurice Lacroix, remarked, “We celebrated the opening of our third  Maurice Lacroix boutique, created in partnership with Watatime. Our urban watches are made for the fast-paced life of city living. The design of this latest boutique is inspired by the buildings, the streetscape and the vibrant tempo we associate with the great metropolises around the globe. The result looks cool and young. We are glad to be in Kuala Lumpur and plan to open another boutique very soon.”

Michael Kors Colby Bag Launch

Meet The Colby – the latest “IT” bag to hit the market. We were at the launch, which took place at the Michael Kors outlet in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Available in Black Neoprene, Spiced Coral (pictured above), Metallic Silver and Optic White, the Michael Kors Colby Bag collection is not only edgy and gives off modern glamour – it’s designed to rest seamlessly under your arm and bring out the “IT” girl in you.

“Walkerworld Asia Tour Pt.1” Press Conference 

Norwegian-British DJ Alan Walker will be taking the stage at Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon next month for his “Walkerworld Asia Tour Pt.1”! Joining him will be the oh-so-talented Indonesian singer Putri Ariani, the former America’s Got Talent contestant who earned the Golden Buzzer from the one and only Simon Cowell.

During the press conference earlier this week, the “Faded” hitmaker shared more details about his upcoming show as well as why he chose Putri as a supporting act. Here’s what went down:

Limited-Edition Ford Ranger StormTrak Launch

We swung by 1Utama Shopping Centre for the grand unveiling of Ford Malaysia’s latest beast, here to conquer all kinds of streets — the Limited-Edition Ford Ranger StormTrak.

This powerful machine boasts a slew of features, such as an advanced technology e-Shifter, Active Park Assist 2.0, and Auxiliary Lamps and Zone Lighting. Easily traverse any terrain thanks to its all-wheel drive and 20-inch wheels. If you’re interested in getting one for yourself, then it’s best to do it quickly, as Ford is only offering 200 units. Pandora Malaysia Summer Event 2024

We were at Alva KL for the launch of Pandora’s new summer collection! The new Pandora Essence line is defined by organic contours and sculptural shapes inspired by free-flowing forms of nature. During the summer event, we checked all the pieces from the new collection, which range from earrings and necklaces to summer-themed Pandora Moments charms.

Girl group DOLLA also made a special appearance at the event to perform their songs “Drip” and ‘Damelo” while rocking pieces from the new collection. The Pandora Essence collection is now available online and in-store, with prices starting from RM199.

Launch Of Le French Film Festival 2024

Le French Festival 2024 has returned! Running from 29th May to 14th July, celebrating sport, family, and inclusivity, the event is inspired by the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and spans Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Kuching,

This year’s edition unites Malaysian and French cultures through cinema, digital art, photography, music, dance, theatre, sports, and gastronomy. Co-organised by the Alliances Françaises de Malaisie and the Embassy of France in Malaysia, the festival offers diverse events for everyone.

Key highlights include a curated selection of 16 French films, Digital Adventure Day on 2nd June, Fête de la Musique on 23rd June, French National Day on 14th July, and various sporting events. Dive into immersive experiences like floral workshops, personalised skincare sessions, and tours of a mini orchid sanctuary. Events will be held in popular locations like Titiwangsa Park and the KL Car Free Morning route to engage a wider audience. Book tickets now via the GSC app or website. Aveeno unveiled its latest skincare breakthrough at 1Utama Shopping Centre – two products which can rapidly relieve your dry, itchy skin! Partnering with healthcare professionals and experts, including dermatologists, pediatricians, pharmacists, and scientists, the products’ launch put a focus on harnessing the natural benefits of oats. G-SHOCK x AGAINST LAB.

Casio Malaysia has collaborated with fashion brand AGAINST LAB., unveiling a limited-edition G-SHOCK DW-5600AL24 for Southeast Asia. This model inherits the classic DW-5600’s design, embodying the original G-SHOCK’s durability and innovation. With shock resistance, 200-metre water resistance, and a backlight, it pays homage to the 80s era when the G-SHOCK’s ruggedness was proven by surviving a slapshot from a professional hockey player.

The special edition draws inspiration from the universal language of music, reflecting AGAINST LAB.’s hip-hop influence and the nostalgic appeal of cassette tapes. We had the opportunity to look at the watch. It features a matte white base with neon colour-coded elements, typewriter font logos, and cassette tape-like screw designs. The watch face displays a bright pink “AGAINST” label and a unique LED backlight logo resembling sound waves. The packaging includes a retro-style box with a silver chrome tin, emphasising the collaboration’s theme. Priced at RM595, the watch is now available at various outlets and online stores.

Callie x Orchid Culture Collab

Callie unveiled its XOSOME Blue Collection in collaboration with Orchid Culture, expanding its existing skincare line to celebrate natural rejuvenation and timeless allure. Inspired by founder Kelly Teoh’s mother’s passion for orchids, the new blue edition incorporates the resilience and adaptability of orchids into XOSOME technology, delivering bioactive agents for optimal skin health. Singapore Tourism Board: The Road Ahead
