Unprofessional & Sloppy: C-Drama “Joy of Life 2” Slammed For Having Too Many Mistakes In Final Cut

It’s not uncommon for television series and movies to have mistakes in the final cut, like the infamous Starbucks cup left in a shot in an episode of Game of Thrones. However, the historical Chinese drama “Joy of Life 2 (庆余年第二季)” is receiving tons of heat from netizens for having too many mistakes.

The blockbuster drama series recently concluded its second season at the end of May. Many netizens praised the series throughout its run but now criticised the production for its sloppy work after re-watching several episodes. Many eagle-eyed viewers noted that multiple mistakes made it to the final cut, causing distraction for the viewers. While many goofs were merely items getting left in the shot, many viewers say it illogical for “modern products” to appear in any way since “Joy of Life 2” is a period drama.

Here are some of the more notable mistakes from the series:

  1. A plastic bottle left on a table
  2. A van appears in the background during an outdoor scene
  3. A smartphone with a lit screen left on the roof of the set
  4. A man holding a camera in the background
  5. Actors keeping their wrist watches on during filming
  6. A man appears in the shot while wearing a t-shirt and black pants
  7. Extras showing the middle finger to the camera
  8. Extra wearing modern-style spectacles

Many netizens admitted that these goofs were rather amusing, with some saying they couldn’t help but laugh at the mistakes. However, these bloopers also left many viewers disappointed in the director and editors for not noticing them during filming or editing. Some argued they were distracting and ruined the viewing experience, adding it also made the production look unprofessional and sloppy.
