As many of you may know, BLACKPINK’s Jennie (제니) was recently in Italy for the JACQUEMUS 2024 F/W “La Casa” fashion show where she made her runway debut. Apart from captivating the audience with her stage presence while wearing a stunning yet simple black dress, the singer-rapper also went viral for her onstage interaction with model Shin Hyun Ji.
Apparently, that wasn’t the only interaction that went viral earlier this week. English-Albanian singer Dua Lipa attended the same event as well and fans couldn’t get enough of her adorable friendship with the K-pop idol. Here’s what went down:
Fans would certainly remember that BLACKPINK and Dua Lipa once collaborated on the latter’s “Kiss and Makeup” single back in 2017 so it’s certainly no surprise that the members have a special bond with the Grammy winner. Yesterday (Wednesday, 12th June), the 28-year-old posted an Instagram carousel with the last slide being a video of her saying hello to Jennie who was still on the roof of the JACQUEMUS 2024 “La Casa” fashion show venue.
In the video, the singer can be heard shouting, “Hi Cutie!” and Jennie, who was seen donning a sheer black dress, excitedly replied by blowing a kiss to her friend. The IG video has since been reposted everywhere on social media, especially Twitter where fans expressed how happy they were seeing the two celebs interact. A few said that they were jealous saying that they wished to be either one of the two stars on the receiving end of the interaction. Others were hoping that the singers would collab again one day.
For your information, the last time Dua Lipa and Jennie were seen together was back in 2021 when they celebrated the latter’s birthday. Prior to that, the “Houdini” hitmaker made a surprise appearance at BLACPINK’s concert in Newark for their “Kiss and Makeup” performance back in 2019. It’s good to see that the artists have remained close ever since their collaboration. Perhaps one day we’ll get to see them working on a project together again.
