Last week, Jaclyn Victor made the exciting announcement that she will be holding her first-ever solo concert later this year in celebration of her 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry. Fans can definitely expect the “Malaysian Idol” winner to perform some of her biggest hits as well as some surprises she has in store for them for the upcoming show.
Throughout her outstanding career, the singer has performed at various events, award shows and music festivals. Unbeknownst to fans, Jac was actually offered by a concert organiser to do a joint concert with two other talented local artists; Shila Amzah and Ziana Zain. Despite the exciting offer, fate had other plans. Here’s why:

During a recent press conference, Jac was asked about the timing to finally do her first-ever solo concert. The “Gemilang” songstress explained that she had planned to do a solo concert for her 20th anniversary for quite some time. “I had to turn down a lot of offers. There was one offer for me to do a joint concert with Shila Amzah and Ziana Zain but the timing just wasn’t right. They wanted to do the concert next month in July but Shila had just given birth and Ziana had just done her own concert last month. So the timing to do one together just didn’t make sense to me,” she elaborated.
It seems that the 45-year-old had no regrets turning down those offers since now she’ll have the opportunity to fully explore her vast discography throughout her career. “The concert will definitely be a huge moment for me but it won’t be the end. There are still a lot of things I want to do and showcase to the world. I won’t ever feel complete,” she added.
While Jaclyn cannot reveal any details about her upcoming concert, she cited Dato Siti Nurhaliza and Celine Dion as one of her inspirations saying that she wants her show to be just as spectacular as theirs. “There is a lot I can learn from them but of course, my show will be different. I just can’t tell you how just yet,” she said with a smile.
