Malaysia must’ve left a good impression on AKB48 (aka Akihabara48, 公式サイト) because they’re returning to our homegrown soil for a full concert show next month. If you’re a fan, you probably met them when they were at Lalaport BBCC for the Sakura Festival launch.
iME Malaysia is the official concert organiser and released the teaser poster a few days ago. Good news peeps, a little birdie shared that a few members from AKB48 – namely Takahashi Ayane, Nagano Serika, Fukuoka Seina, Hashimoto Haruna, Iwatate Saho, Sakagawa Hiyuka – will be dropping by KL prior to their concert.
This upcoming appearance is apparently for Lalaport’s Bon Odori 2024 event. The Bon Odori cultural celebration will take place over the course of 2 weekends, 27th -28th July and 3rd-4th August. As at time of writing, it’s unconfirmed yet when the aforementioned AKB48 girls will be showing up. Some Malaysian fans are hoping they’ll get some updates on sub-group KLP48.
Having said that, we can confirm that AKB48’s concert is scheduled to take place near Lalaport – at Zepp KL to be exact. Their “First Cry” concert is happening on 18th August 2024. In addition to their popular hits, fans can expect AKB48 to perform to their newly-released single “Koi Tsunjatta” (恋 詰んじゃった), which roughly translates to “I Fell In Love”.
