Singaporean Magician Jeremy Pei Passed Away After Succumbing To Brain Cancer

Family, friends and fans are grieving over the recent passing of a well-known Singaporean magician, Jeremy Pei, who died after succumbing to brain cancer. He was 41 years old and survived by his wife, Celia, and two young children, Jac and Joy. Jeremy’s brother announced the devastating news via Facebook. According to the funeral notice, the magician passed away on 18th August (Sunday), with funeral proceedings taking place until 22nd August (Thursday).

Jeremy’s cause of death was reportedly brain cancer, which he had been battling for more than ten years. He was hospitalised for more than two months before his death due to a recurrence of his brain tumour. Jeremy has always been vocal about his health issues and battle with cancer, which began occurring in 2012 after he was involved in a road accident.

In an interview with Brain Tumour Society Singapore, Jeremy revealed that he was diagnosed with a brain tumour after his accident. Jeremy then underwent two surgeries, one in 2016 and another in 2022, to remove the tumour. However, in 2023, an MRI test showed that the tumour was growing near the centre of his brain. He then started chemotherapy in August 2023 and initially showed improvement. However, he continued to experience mild seizures, and in June, doctors said that his cancer was terminal.

Family and friends mourn his death and pay tribute to the late magician through social media. His wife, Celia, wrote in a post, “My hero and great husband, brave father of our children, goodbye. You don’t have to suffer anymore. You can go peacefully.” Malaysian magician Avery Chin also wrote a touching tribute, thanking Jeremy for being a great mentor and for his contribution to the magic community. The Singapore Association of Magicians also mourned Jeremy’s death, writing that he had always been an active member of the community and that they would remember him fondly.
