Who doesn’t love a fun TikTok challenge? From make-up to acting to dance challenges, we’ve seen plenty of trends on TikTok that netizens and celebrities have participated in. If you scroll through the popular video-sharing app right now, you’ll probably see lots of users doing the “Do Re Mi” singing trend.
Popularised by singer Charlier Puth, the challenge is simple: Sing the correct note at a certain pitch to make the ball in the filter go through the holes. Our Malaysian singers and celebs even hoped in on the fun and here are some of our favourite ones:
1. Aina Abdul

Aina could obviously easily do this challenge, without a doubt. Rather than rushing to finish it in one breath, the singer took her time in singing each note while figuring out how much she should project for the ball to go through the obstacles.

Amir decided to take it up a notch by doing the challenge in one breath. He successfully did the challenge the first time in a higher register by using his chest voice before transitioning to his head voice for the last view notes. For the second attempt, he applied more aggression to his singing, using a more rock vocal technique. Unfortunately, he couldn’t manage to complete the challenge as he struggled halfway.
3. Ismail Izzani

Just like Amir, Ismail Izzani also attempted the challenge in one breath. By also using his falsetto technique throughout, the 24-year-old successfully completed the “Do Re Mi” trend after the first try!
4. Ceddy Ang (Ceddyornot)
Entering his singer era! If you haven’t been keeping up with Ceddy, he has been taking vocal lessons with coach Shafizawati Sharif. The influencer decided to put his skills and knowledge to the test by doing this TikTok challenge. The content creator successfully completed the task by singing in his falsetto register in one breath, much to his own surprise.
5. Azfar Heri (azfarherii)

Just because he’s not a professional singer, doesn’t mean he can’t join in on the fun. Instead of doing the challenge the traditional way, influencer Azfar Heri thought he could cheat by going ‘Mariah Carey’ on the challenge. The content creator first started off by singing the first note normally but after struggling a few times, he immediately switched to a whistle tone, making the ball in the filter move to the end without ever going through the holes. You know what they say: “Work smart, not hard”.
