Lately, we’ve heard tonnes of updates and news about the girls of BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) on various social media platforms. Going all the way from unexpected solo comebacks to dating rumours to jaw-dropping fashion shows, and many more. Despite focusing on their respective solo careers, the four K-pop stars still manage to take the world by storm with their presence.
This week, BLACKPINK’s Roseanne Park, better known by her stage name, Rosé (로제), announced that she will be releasing her first solo debut album. Here are 5 fun facts about the idol’s latest comeback that you might not know about:
1. This Is Her First Release After Signing With Atlantic Records
Last week (Friday, 27th September), Rosé posted on her Instagram, excitedly announcing that she had signed a solo contract with the American label, Atlantic Records. The company is known to represent renowned names such as Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Cardi B, and Coldplay.
The singer is also the latest member of BLACKPINK to have signed with an American music label. In conjunction with her signing under the company, Atlantic Records posted a picture of the singer, posing with a bouquet of roses, on their official Instagram account, with the caption “Welcome to the family.”
2. She Opened A “Finsta” Account To Promote The Album
Under her own Instagram post that same day, Rosé also added that she opened a second Instagram account, @vampirehollie. The fake Instagram (finsta) account was said to have been created to post more news on her upcoming music projects. The 27-year-old then encouraged fans to follow said account, as they would be able to stay updated on her journey as a solo artist.
3. She Opened An Email List To Update Fans On Her Upcoming Projects
In addition to the second Instagram account, the BLACKPINK member also urged fans to sign up for her email list, as subscribers would be the first to hear about her upcoming music, news, and more. The newsletter was created to provide fans with additional information and announcements about her work. Subscribers will also receive sneak peeks and photos of her in the studio, preparing for her upcoming music.
4. Her Debut Album’s Official Release Date Is 6th December
Yesterday, Rosé finally dropped the long-awaited news that her first studio album, “rosie”, will be released on 6th December. Unable to contain her excitement, she told her “Number Ones” (her fan club) that she couldn’t believe that she was finally able to announce her first album release.
“I have poured my blood and tears into this album. I cannot wait for you to listen to this little journal of mine,” she captioned under the Instagram post. Rosé also shared that she named the full-length album “rosie” because it is the name she allows her friends and family to call her and that she’s now inviting fans to get to know her more personally through her new music.
5. Her Debut Album Will Have 12 Tracks
It has been confirmed that her full-length album would consist of 12 tracks, which got fans excited as BLACKPINK’s albums never contained this many tracks before. Updates regarding the tracks have been posted on Rosé’s Spotify account, however, the titles of those tracks have yet to be revealed.
