Being born with a rare genetic condition comes with an award these days! On 6th March 2025, Lalit was recognised as having the hairiest face in the world by Guinness World Records. He travelled to Milan, Italy for “Lo Show dei Record” where his record was officially verified, and as of 13th March 2025, he holds this astounding record!
2. He Is 1 Of 50 Cases Of Hypertrichosis
Lalit’s case is one of fifty documented cases of Hypertrichosis ever recorded since the Middle Ages, making him one in a billion! The “Werewolf Syndrome” affects the person since birth, where excessive growth of hair anywhere on the body starts growing where it’s not supposed to grow. Another notable figure of this condition is Julia Pastrana, the “Ape Woman”, who was heralded as a circus act due to her condition.
3. 95% of His Face Is Covered With Hair
Being labelled the world’s hairiest face is not just a simple feat. After an examination of the amount of hair growth on Lalit’s face in Milan, it was confirmed that he has nearly 202 hairs per square centimetre, making a whopping 95% of his face covered in hair! Talk about thick, luscious hair!
4. He Doesn’t Want To Change His Appearance
In an exclusive interview with Guinness World Records, Lalit admitted that his first day of school was met with strange stares from his fellow classmates. He continued by expressing that he tells people around him that he is not any different from the regular person; only his outward appearance is different, and everything inside is still the same. When asked how he responds to people telling him to shave the hairs on his face, the young man simply replied, “I like how I am, I don’t want to change how I look“. Talk about confidence!
5. Featured on the series “Born Different”
Lalit’s Patidar was first recognized on the YouTube series by Truly, “Born Different”. In the episode that was aired on 8th February 2019, follows young Lalit intro a short introduction of his condition and childhood. We see clips of him as a baby and playing with his friends which he briefly mentions of being bullied by the other school kids.
6. He Has A YouTube Channel To Document His Everyday Life
Instead of shying away from the public due to his condition, Lalit simply embraces his uniqueness by starting his own YouTube channel!
