Woman Throws Party To Celebrate One Year Of Road Work Near Her Home

People throw parties for many different reasons. But have you ever seen someone throwing a party to celebrate delayed construction work? Natalie Naquin Harvey, mom and registered nurse from the Lakeview of New Orleans, Mexico, recently threw a birthday party to celebrate one year of incomplete road construction work in front of her house.

The party was a proper one, complete with a cake, balloons, and a photo shoot. She shared the pics on Facebook, writing: “Happy first birthday to our street construction!”. Harvey’s cake included a couple of layers of chocolate sponge, topped with peanut butter frosting. Her post soon took the internet by storm, gathering over 800 shares and 1000 reactions.

Through the viral post, Harvey revealed the daily inconveniences faced by the residents due to the negligence of authorities. As reported by FOX8, the whole street where Harvey resides is currently torn up, including directly in front of her house. She stated that during summer, the driveways on her side were blocked for nearly three months. At the present, however, driveways on the opposite side of the street are also blocked.

For the continuous delay and the inconveniences caused, Harvey blamed the irregular and unplanned construction schedule of the authorities. She revealed that in some instances, they will work daily for a week, and then do nothing for another two or three weeks. She also stated that due to this, a lot of work has been piled up. However, no one can predict when it’s going to stop or start again.
