“Happy 6.9k Everyone!” Iman Troye Deactivates Twitter After Joking About Rising Covid-19 Cases

Malaysian singer Iman Troye has been receiving a huge amount of backlash from keyboard warriors over a statement posted on her Twitter over the weekend.

Iman (real name Siti Nur Alyssa Sahabudin) shared a cynical tweet on her page, as if “celebrating” the rising number of Covid-19 cases happening in our country over the past few days.

“Happy 6.9k everyone! Congratulations! Hopefully tomorrow we’ll reach 7k hihi <33” the “Teman” singer tweeted, along with the hashtag “#KerajaanGagal”. Because of that, Iman has been badly criticised by netizens over her insensitive trait.

“Frontliners are exhausted, people are dying. Yet you have the gut to actually tweet ‘Hopefully tomorrow will reach hihi <33’ like its a joke?? So f**king insensitive,” Twitter user @aisyahjkm remarked. “Covid-19 has taken so many lives and souls. Yeah, it’s funny until it happened to you or your family. Iman Troye should be banned from this industry. Embarrassing.”

Additionally, other social media users also brought to light about the 19-year-old celeb was caught flouting the Covid-19 SOPs in the past. “You didn’t even follow the SOPs, but you had the tendency to call out the government? You also failed from the beginning for not adhering to the rules,” @shereandipity wrote.

Iman had since deleted the controversial tweet not long after being severely slammed by the netizens. Not only that, it was later found that her Twitter account has also been deactivated.
