Johor Prince TMJ: “Simply Locking The People Indoors Is No Longer Relevant”

Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ismail Idris has called for the current Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) to be reviewed “holistically” and based on valid data.

In a statement uploaded on His Highness’ official Facebook page, the Johor Prince pointed out that the action of confining the people at their homes for almost two months is no longer relevant.

“I’m worried that the people are now facing mental and physical health problems. Besides that, socioeconomic issues have also arisen due to the prolonged situation. I feel that the SOPs need to be revised holistically and based on accurate data. Simply locking the people indoors is no longer relevant,” TMJ expressed.

In addition, the former Football Association Malaysia (FAM) president also spoke about the use of rapid test kits and personal test kits that need to be introduced as soon as possible, especially for crucial sectors including the processing of medicines, food and basic necessities. “The Rakyat should also be widely screened and vaccinated as soon as possible,” His Highness added in the post.

TMJ then concluded by writing, “I have also decreed for the vaccination process for the Johor people to be expedited through various initiatives, including for the Johor state government to obtain vaccines through direct purchases. With this, I hope we will succeed in overcoming this pandemic.”

How do you feel about His Highness’ suggestion?
