These past few weeks have not been easy for Kris Wu (吴亦凡). Ever since the shocking allegations of sexual assault and possible rape of numerous women came to light, the singer has continued to dominate the headlines.
Not long after rumours of him getting bullied behind bars circulated online, there have been uncertified claims saying that the 30-year-old had apparently ended his own life, as it was reported that he couldn’t bear living in prison!
“Breaking! Kris Wu’s suicide case is under investigation. Apparently, he committed (suicide) as he could not bear staying in prison. Confirmation and more information will follow later,” one Twitter user wrote in a now-deleted tweet.
Despite that, many fans have stepped forth to clarify that the news is fake as there is no proof. The aforesaid netizen then came up with another post, emphasising that the case is “still under investigation”. “I used words like “APPARENTLY” as well as saying that confirmation and further updates are following later. This is just something I took from Wechat Hot Channel,” they explained.
That being said, the rumour about Kris committing suicide has in turn sparked a major commotion and uproar among fans on social media platforms and various online communities. Read some of their remarks here:

Like I understand everyone wants to see him pay for his crimes, but posting an unconfirmed rumor then saying it's a rumor after with an untranslated ss knowing very well that majority of the people they are posting it to don't speak the language isnt it

In related news about the former EXO member, daily tabloid Global Times reported that a group of employees got fired from a company for discussing to have Kris to represent their brand. The company, NETA Auto, had triggered an intense discussion on Weibo after it was suggested that they had fired the staff for “seriously challenging social issues.”
In the screenshot of one WeChat group conversation, one marketing staff known as Peng Gang stated, “The spirit of NETA is to give people a second chance,” and proceeded to suggest the company to choose Kris to represent the brand, in spite of his recent sexual assault scandal.
“This move will make us famous on the internet within five minutes,” Peng Gang explained, before adding, “It’s worth a try. If it fails, just apologise and fire any related staff.” In the chatroom, it seems that his idea was also approved by other employees of the company.
Instead, the brand decided to terminate the employment contract of all the staff who were involved in the discussion. They revealed, “Our brand thinks that some individuals’ words have seriously challenged the social values, brought bad influence and went against the company’s principles and purposes.”
NETA Auto’s CEO and co-founder Zhang Yong took to his official Weibo to personally address the news. He said, “Let them pay for their words.”
