As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. That’s a definite when it comes to Joey Chua (蔡卓宜)’s love life apparently!
Netizens were shocked when the Malaysian artist supposedly broke up with unofficial boyfriend, Taiwanese actor Darren Wang (王大陸) on Christmas day. However, as it turns out, those rumours were unfounded. Yesterday (28th December), the duo were seen back together again.
Joey’s fanbase “Joey’s Research Base (蔡蔡的研究基地)”, announced the devastating news on Weibo on Christmas day. According to the group, Joey’s agency had supposedly confirmed the singer had been seeing someone, but was now single. Neither Darren nor Joey had commented on the issue after the announcement broke.
However, last night, fans were confused to see Darren with Joey after the 2021 Ifeng Fashion Choice Awards (2021凤凰网时尚之选). The actor had presumably dropped by to see her after she was done attending the ceremony. They were very certain that the duo were not there for work purposes, as only Joey had been in attendance at the ceremony. Many speculated that Darren was actually picking her up from work.
Although the couple walked together, Joey kept her expression under the mask blank. It was a huge contrast to Darren who looked very excited, even stopping to wave at a camera at one point. Fans couldn’t believe how fast the two had “gotten back together”, exclaiming that their ‘breakup’ had only lasted three days. A few assumed the couple had a small spat which led to the ‘breakup’, but wasn’t anything serious.
Additionally, Joey’s official fan club also made a statement on Weibo, in reference to the rumour. The “Joey Chan Global Support Club (蔡卓宜全球后援会)” claimed to be the only group in contact with Joey’s agency. They advised fans to get news from official channels instead of listening to rumours. Joey’s fanbase was not explicitly named.
Well, nobody except the duo know if they really broke up or just had a small spat! However, it seems as though they are together, for now.
