It’s not a surprise that Maine Coons can grow into large sizes. However, it’s great to see that this particular Maine Coon has made the best out of that ability. This giant Maine Coon is so large in size to the point that people sometimes mistake him for a dog. The most astonishing thing is that he is still a kitten who will definitely grow even bigger. So, take a look at this absolutely adorable giant Kefir, who’s the biggest cat in the world!
The massive cat is not even 2 years old yet, however, he already weighs a whopping 28lbs. This may not seem like a lot. But, once you remember that the average weight of a male Maine Coon is just 18lbs and that Kefir will continue to grow till he’s 3-4 years old, it is indeed a lot. Although it’s hard to imagine how large he will be, it’s doesn’t seem to bother his beloved human. Even his owner was surprised by Kefir’s unusually large size. However, she’s always ready to cuddle this giant furball.

Despite his size, Kefir is really gentle. He lives in Stary Oskol, Russia with Yuliya Minina, his mom, who he met a couple of years ago. Yuliya was indeed overwhelmed when her fur friend took the internet by storm, and she says that she never expected this outcome when she first met Kefir.
Julia says that despite his “formidable” appearance, Kefir is truly “affectionate and modest.” She reveals that Kefir is a smart and calm cat who doesn’t meow, yell, or harm the furniture in the house. She also states that many people mistake Kefir for a dog at first, because of his large size.
Yuliya finds living with the enormous cat truly adorable. However, she revealed the inconveniences that are caused when sharing a bed with the giant. She says that Kefir likes to climb on her when he sleeps. This was not a problem when he was just a kitten. However, due to Kefir’s large size, it’s hard to sleep like that now.
