It isn’t uncommon for people to break up with someone they’ve been seeing for over a year. However, it is uncommon for people to recommend another partner to them shortly after discovering they’ve broken up!
Malaysian artist Michiyo Ho (何戀慈) recently revealed she broke up with her Taiwanese boyfriend Shi Dan (史丹). Surprisingly, fans were quick to recommend another guy to her. This time, they’re hoping to see her together with a Malaysian YouTuber.
Michiyo revealed her new relationship status inadvertently on 7th January during a Q&A session on Instagram. During the questions, a curious fan apparently asked if she had broken up with her boyfriend. “I haven’t seen you post anything about you and your boyfriend recently,” they started. “(I’m) asking politely, have you broken up?”
The artist’s response surprised many. “This question is asked by many people almost every Q&A,” she said wryly. “Yes, we’ve (broken up).” Their break up comes two years after Michiyo went public with their relationship. She had apparently revealed their status then on “The Jolly Trio (吹水三贱客)” show in 2020. According to Michiyo, they had been dating for at least two years by then.
The 28-year-old didn’t seem too torn up about her ‘new’ relationship status, but fans clearly wanted her to be happy with someone. In fact, several people recommended local YouTuber Phei Yong (培永) as a potential new boyfriend. “Are you considering Phei Yong?” one fan asked cheekily. “You two are so right together.”
Michiyo was quick to respond, with her own cheeky retort. “(A) black and white match is impossible,” she said jokingly, referring to the YouTuber’s darker skin. “Because he won’t be seen in photos.” Michiyo helpfully included an old photo to show what she meant, which caused some laughter at the blatant example. Another asked if she was into ThreeeProduction YouTuber Kevin Ong. But she shut it down, explaining that they were only hiking and sports buddies.
We wouldn’t be too worried about Michiyo’s love life. The Malaysian artist is still fairly popular with the guys. Also, we’re certain she’ll find someone else when she’s good and ready.
