JinnyBoy’s CNY Cut Short After He & Family Contracted Covid-19

The holiday season is the time of the year where we are reunited with our families. However, for the past couple of years, it has been hard for each and everyone of us to go back to our families’ arms.

Since we are regressing back to normalcy, prior to the Lunar New Year, the government has released an official SOP for celebrations. Despite that, the cases of Covid-19 still rose tremendously in the past week, affecting everyone. One of the notable names who was infected during the holidays was one of our favourite local YouTubers, JinnyBoy (Jin Lim).

JinnyBoy has took the time to post on his personal Instagram account, on Saturday (5th February) evening, regarding not only his situation, but his whole household that contracted the virus. He explained the chronology of how his household ended up getting the virus. It all started with his daughter, Kayzel, who was down with a fever and was feeling fatigue.

Despite being in denial, he got her tested for the virus, and the results were positive. Jinny and his wife, Michelle, being responsible close contacts, got tested too — several times, in fact. Although the results came out negative multiple times, in the end, the whole household tested positive except for his youngest, Khloe.

He stated how it broke his heart to send off his youngest daughter to his in-laws, but it was necessary to protect her. “What was more important was to protect the youngest, Khloe, and the eldest, my mother,” as he stated in his caption. He also updated on their household’s recovery process along with their symptoms. His daughter recovered in a couple of days, while he and his wife started showing symptoms as Kayzel was recovering.

Not only that JinnyBoy took the time to update his followers on his household’s situation, but he also took the chance to spread public awareness on the virus (in case there are still people who lack awareness despite that we’ve been in the pandemic for a whole 2 years by now). He told the public to always be careful because, “When you’re a close contact, and you do a PCR and results (came out) negative, you’re not really out of the woods completely.”

He reminded everyone to not take the chance of infecting people with the virus because not everyone will survive it. He also grabbed the opportunity to reprimand those who are selfish during this pandemic, “If you tested positive, and know (it) and yet still go out and about and party, someone should really slap you till you can see your own ass.”
