ATV Sister Sit Yeng Yi To Develop Career In Malaysia After Lawsuit Is Settled

Asia Television Digital Media (ATV) artist Sit Yeng Yi (号佳丽) aka Ah Yi (阿仪) has been having a very eventful time. Not only was she recently involved in a lawsuit, Yeng Yi also lost her contract with ATV! As it turns out, ATV was officially liquidated and has terminated contracts with its artists. This included Yeng Yi.

However, it’s not all bad. On 8th September, the 38-year-old revealed that she had signed with Asia Momentum Media (AMM 亚洲心动娱乐), a subsidiary of ATV. And to the surprise of many, her first job will be taking her to Malaysia!

Fans had been very worried for Yeng Yi’s future after the news got out. After all, it seemed like a double whammy that she was dealing with a lawsuit on top of her uncertain future with ATV. In fact, internet celebrity Joseph Lam (林作) even offered to sign her on as his “first artist”. But, Yeng Yi herself wasn’t too worried and it seems she had her reasons why.

The artist happily announced the good news yesterday via her socials. “Thank you Joseph, for caring about me, (but) I signed a contract with AMM today,” she stated. Her agent Connie Lam (林宝玉) has also added that Yeng Yi will be developing her career in Malaysia.

Their main reason for choosing Malaysia as Yeng Yi’s starting point is because of her immense popularity here. Connie pointed out that on Yeng Yi’s previous trip here, she was very well-received by fans. Additionally, Connie claimed pillows with Yeng Yi’s image printed on them sold very well here.

I (will) wait for her to finish (with) the lawsuit first. Then, (we will) develop (her career) in Malaysia,” Connie reportedly revealed. She also stated that she is currently negotiating a film script for Yeng Yi which will hopefully lead to her filming in Malaysia sometime in September.

Connie has said that Yeng Yi may later work in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan as well, as AMM has outposts there. But, they will be focusing on Malaysia for now. Well, good luck to her! We certainly hope to see her bring her A-game to Malaysia!
