It looks like we’re saying goodbye to another popular outlet. After 16 years of operation, AEON Sunway Pyramid announced that it is closing its doors for good. Through Sunway Pyramid’s official Facebook page, the retail store announced that it will cease operations at the end of July.
In their Facebook post, Sunway Pyramid thanked the retail store for the 16 years of serving the community with essential goods. The mall also encouraged customers to visit AEON Sunway Pyramid for the last time before its closure.
According to the mall’s official website, the mall will be undergoing enhancement progress to expand the mall’s offering and bring a fresh and modern vibe to revamped corners. The First Ground and Lower Ground 1 (LG1) floors exited the mall earlier this month, leaving only the supermarket portion at Lower Ground 2 (LG2) open until 31st July.
It is said that the mall’s AEON Wellness store will also close its doors alongside AEON Sunway Pyramid. After the exit of the retail store, the space will make room for more speciality stores, as well as a new grocery store that will take over the LG2 space.
Following the news of the closure, many AEON fans voiced their sadness but also took the opportunity to share their gratitude for the retail store’s years of service. Many commenters spoke fondly about their memories of shopping at AEON Sunway Pyramid, especially at the supermarket. Also in the comments were a few former AEON employees who shared their experiences working at the Sunway Pyramid branch.
It warms our hearts to see visitors share their heartfelt gratitude for the retail store. If you’re ever in the area, do pay AEON Sunway Pyramid one last visit to bid your farewell.
