KLFW2024 Opening, ASICS Launch, House Of Sephora & More: Events We Hit Up This Week!

Another week, another whirlwind of totally EXTRA events! We were here, there and everywhere!

We oohed and aahed at KLFW2024; made ourselves at home at House of Sephora; got our foot in the door at ASICS’s latest drop launch, and more. We were on the scene, and vibing like a boss! Just check out our social diary for this past week (don’t be jelly!):


KLFW2024 Launch & Opening Shows

We attended the launch and opening shows of the highly-awaited Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2024! This year, the event is held at the Esplanade at Suria KLCC, overlooking the picturesque Petronas Twin Towers, which adds to the glamooor!

The theme of KLFW2024 is “Neo Fashion,” and the first three shows featured stunning designs by Uzair Shoid, Milkshake and What To Wear. They were all amazing! Several shows at the ongoing event are broadcast live to the public, giving the world a look at Malaysia’s fashion talents. Other designers and fashion houses featured at KLFW2024 include Farah Khan, Nurita Harith, Alia Bastamam, Behati, Fizi Woo and Rizman Ruzaini. Here’s what went down at the opening shows:

ASICS OG SKYHAND Sneakers Launch

ASICS celebrated the launch of its iconic OG SKYHAND sneakers with a party at Gasket Alley that featured photo booths to capture the night, a custom charm booth to decorate the sneakers, and a DJ booth that kept the fun going all night long. Guests also enjoyed delicious pizzas from Phil’s Pizzas; with the highlight of the night being a lucky draw.

The OG SKYHAND sneakers, originally released in 1994, have been updated for modern lifestyles while retaining their slim and low-profile aesthetic. The reimagined version features FLYTEFOAM™ PROPEL cushioning and an EVA heel wedge for enhanced comfort. The sneakers will be available in two material iterations: one with synthetic leather paneling and suede details, and another with a primarily suede construction paired with synthetic leather ASICS stripes and heel tabs. House Of Sephora 2024

Get ready to refresh your beauty routine with the latest trends from House of Sephora for 2024! At their recent event, Sephora unveiled a stunning lineup of products across makeup, skincare, hair, and body care from 29 top brands. This season, the spotlight is on “cloud makeup,” blending dewy and matte finishes for a soft-focus glow. Skincare enthusiasts can achieve “glowing glass skin” with products designed to hydrate and brighten, while new haircare launches promise to transform dull locks into lustrous strands. Exciting additions include homegrown brand P.S. Knudsen, Japanese favourite Takami, Shark Beauty from the US, and Australia’s Straand.

Mark your calendars for 22nd August when the full collection drops, but don’t wait – some products are already available in-store and online. Highlights include Sephora Collection’s Skin Tint, Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Blurring Serum Blush, Givenchy’s Prisme Libre Powder, Dr. Jart+’s Brightamin line, and Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow Trio. LEGO Let’s Go Paris! Pop-up @ The Exchange TRX

We experienced Paris, block by block, thanks to LEGO’s new pop-up at The Exchange TRX! The amazing set-up is aimed at shoppers with a passion for travel, and takes them through Parisian-inspired streets decorated with LEGO elements, inviting them on a refreshing journey to discover the magic of the French capital.

The pop-up also showcases LEGO’s latest set, the aptly-themed LEGO Art Mona Lisa, as well as the LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris set, allowing you to bring a piece of France to your home. Watsons’ EVER COLLAGEN Launch 

In a dazzling affair that highlighted the latest in beauty innovation, Watsons celebrated the launch of EVER COLLAGEN, Korea’s pioneering dual-function collagen supplement. Held at Mid Valley, the event drew a crowd of industry insiders, beauty influencers, and media personalities eager to witness the unveiling of this groundbreaking product. 

The evening was marked by elegant presentations and interactive demonstrations showcasing EVER COLLAGEN’s unique benefits and its ability to enhance skin moisture and elasticity while also providing protection against UV damage. Attendees were treated to in-depth insights into the product’s cutting-edge technology and its proven efficacy in reducing wrinkles and improving overall skin health. Moonlit Melody Afternoon Tea @ The Westin KL

There’s nothing like celebrating the autumn festival with lovely afternoon tea and treats. We were invited to The Westin Hotel Kuala Lumpur for the launch of their latest ‘Moonlit Melody’ music box. This retro mooncake set features four meticulously-crafted mooncakes, each embodying a blend of traditional and contemporary flavours that are Halal certified.

We indulged in the newest mooncakes while accompanied by a live instrumental performance in the hotel’s Chairman Suite, which, by the way, was super cosy and stunning. The Moonlit Melody boxset will be available starting this September – for more information check out their social media post here.
