Yang Bao Bei’s Friends OneJohn & Kay Talk About Her Betrayal Towards Them

There is nothing more devastating than learning that you never really knew someone at all. Recently, Malaysian influencer and YouTuber Yang Bao Bei (杨宝贝) revealed that her gambling debt drove her to scams and later, suicide.

While netizens have been coming to terms with YBB’s confession, those closest to her are left floundering. Many questioned their friendship while others discovered how deep YBB’s betrayal had gone.

Local YouTuber OneJohn, who had feelings for YBB, released a video yesterday (3rd May) dictating how he’d been used as a tool by her. John stated he’d once picked her up from her apartment and noticed she was shaking badly. She was also holding a sim card. He asked her why she was shaking and she replied she was feeling cold and nervous. When he asked about the sim card, YBB explained it belonged to her ex-boyfriend Ao Xiang (傲祥). “(Ao Xiang) is about to get on a plane,” she said. “He didn’t want to use it and told me to use it.

John only discovered YBB had stolen the card after he watched Lim Shangjin’s video on 1st May. She was planning to use it to access Ao’s social media and use it for illegal activities. John also revealed that YBB had borrowed money from him. She would often tell him that her friends have abandoned her to gain his sympathy.

However, John suspected something when she failed to pay him back. John said the longer he knew YBB, the more he learned about what she was hiding. After he confessed to her and was rejected, he tried to be a friend to her, but the relationship deteriorated. “After getting to know her better, she kicked me away again,” the YouTuber said. “She was afraid I would expose her lies.

John isn’t the only one who’s been used by YBB. Her YouTube business partner and friend of 10 years Kay is also feeling betrayed. Last night (3rd May), Kay made a post on Instagram about her friendship with YBB. She stated that YBB is no longer the ‘good girl’ she’d known 10 years ago. Although she had seemed different at times, Kay still believed in her friend. However, she admitted YBB had deceived her. “It turns out you used the same reason to borrow money from me and many others,” she said. “What makes me sad is that you did not chose to be honest with us from the beginning.

Kay said many people called her a fool for being deceived by YBB. But she disagreed. “I am not a fool,” she said. “I just believed in our friendship of ten years.” Kay believed they had grown together as friends over the years and she said she was always there for YBB when needed. But it broke her heart to learn how much YBB had lied to her and their friends. “The most hurtful thing is not your behaviour,” she told YBB. “On the night you were discharged from the hospital, I confronted you. Your reply was: ‘I just lost my mother, so I should be pitied’. This sentence ended our friendship.

Kay was left questioning what their ten-year friendship meant. She stated she was tired and couldn’t bring herself to believe in YBB’s apologies anymore. Kay said only her actions would show her repentance now and how YBB should take the time to reflect and repent on her mistakes. “I hope you can be a new person again,” she wrote.

Although it has not been revealed if YBB has repaid her friends, she is certainly refunding her victims. It was reported that she has successfully refunded RM218,000 for the first group with the help of her family. DJ Leng Yein, who has been helping YBB with her refunding, reposted YBB’s video to affirm the YouTuber was working hard to repay everyone. Leng Yein explained that giving the money back is better than running away. “Even if you go to jail, at least the money will have been returned to others. (It’s) better than nothing.

Only time will tell if YBB has truly repented or not. We can only hope she takes what she has learned from this to heart.
